A lot of people wonder why the category can't be specified for an article during the Article Creation part of the process. You know, one general category for each article then **poof** it's filled in on each submission form.

It sounds like something that would really speed up the process, doesn't it?

However, here's a few things to think about that some of the other "one click" software creators won't tell you:

1. Throughout the 850+ article directories there are over 30,000 specific category choices. There's a reason for this, and that's because your category choice is your first line of keyword relevance and the more specific you can get, the better.

2. The article directories are keenly interested in keeping their site categories relevant to increase page rank for themselves and for you. Irrelevant back links are useless for Page Rank.

3. People go looking through the article directories to find specific articles on specific topics. If your article isn't where it belongs, people won't find it. This decreases your article's popularity on the site, plus destroys any increase in page rank for your own site, because if they can't find your article, they can't use it and give you the back link.

4. Because the article directory owners are so keenly interested in keeping their relevancy up for their categories, chances are they're going to delete your article and it'll never be seen or heard of again.

Now lately there have been some emails coming from irate article directory owners who complain about articles being submitted without a category choice, or being submitted into the wrong category. Some will give you a chance to correct any article you've submitted, but most will just delete them to give themselves more time and opportunity to moderate articles that are submitted properly.

We just received an email from one in particular who claims to have over 12,000 articles submitted into the wrong category. They aren't going to take the time to check them all and reroute them, so chances are, if you submitted articles to them and didn't choose the right category, your article will be deleted.

We can't stress enough to you that choosing the wrong category is like mailing a letter without an address or zip code, and unless you're sending a letter to Santa Claus, it's bound for the "dead letter file."

Article Submission is not the same thing as submitting a url or a classified ad. The concept around article submission and article marketing in general is to set yourself up as an expert in your field.

Your intent should be to present yourself as professional and make sure your articles are read by as many people who might be looking for your information as possible.

So please utilize the category choice buttons on the submission forms and learn to appreciate that just the little extra time it takes to choose the right one out of all 30,000 will make all the difference in the world for you.

Where it is?: For most its a wide tab above the others in the Article Submission window. Higher resolutions put it to the far right of the other tabs.

What is it?: Its a feature that lets you add sites that aren’t included in our regular preload list of sites.

How to use it: You can populate it two ways. Either go into the DIY area and add a site to the drop down menu, then click save, or add a list of sites through the “Add Your Sites” button.

Either way the sites you add will only show up in that drop down menu on the DIY window. They’re not added to the list of sites, nor can you select them as favorites (if you put them there then they’re already your favorites )

That’s all there is to it!

Note: All sites in the DIY tab drop down are considered as manual submissions. You can use the smaller drop down in the lower right hand corner of the window to help populate the submission forms with your article data.

Once you’ve installed Article Submitter Pro, the first thing that comes up when you launch it is the Set Up window. This is the information the software will use for a number of things, the most important is registration.

Fill in the Set Up window using a valid email address that you use and can access. (Be sure articlesubmitterpro.com is white listed for this email address)

Under most circumstances, when you finish filling in the Set Up window and click “Save”, the program will open your email client. It should produce an email addressed to us with your registration data in the body.

If this is the case, simply send it.

If after clicking “Save” in the Set Up window, your email client doesn’t open, please do the following:

1. Open a blank email
2. Go into the Toolbox on Article Submitter Pro and click on the Registration icon
3. Place your cursor into the body of the blank email you opened and press the CTRL and V keys on your keyboard at the same time.
4. Address and send the email to: admin@articlesubmitterpro.com and asp-reg@articlesubmitterpro.com

We will process your registration and send you back the Unlock Code key in an email.

When you receive it, click on the Set Up window button again. You should now see a box at the bottom where your Unlock Code key (registration key) should go.

Paste the key we send you in the box and click save.

That’ll do the trick

Now your Set Up window button disappears and is replaced by your Author identity window button where you can make any adjustments to your default author data (what you put in the Set Up window), or add any number of new author identities.

A lot of ASP users are confused about the “Autoresponder” tab in the Article Creation window. Here’s the explanation:

A few of the article directories allow you to submit your article via an autoresponder address, and so we included it as a feature of the Article Creation window just in case you wanted to use it.

If you don’t use the feature, it’ll only cut your submissions down by a couple of sites. If you DO want to use it, here’s how . . .

Most hosting companies provide a free autoresponder that can be located in your cpanel. These are usually “one shot” autoresponders that you use to let others get your document through email.

All you have to do is go to your cpanel and click on “Mail”, then “autoresponders.”

Once in there create a new autoresponder, paste your article into it (include title, author, body and bio box), and give it a one word name, i.e. “article1″, or “widgets”, or whatever you want that identifies your article.

This creates your autoresponder address (widgets@yoursite.com)

Then you just have to paste that address in the autoresponder tab on Article Submitter Pro as you create your article, and you’re done.

Now, when a site comes up that asks for your autoresponder, that email address will be filled in.
